dani does president's day 2/21

this trip was actually kind of on a whim. my friend had invited me maybe 2 days before and i was like HELL YES. i was prepared for the holiday crowds by having somewhat low expectations of what i'd be able to ride that day. so it was an easygoing trip without any rushing around, considering waits over 30 minutes would be inevitable. we started our trip with breakfast at the Carnation Cafe. i had a Mickey shaped waffle :] Chef Oscar came by my table and greeted me. he even patted my back!!! :O

tarps or scrims? regardless, some cool Starspeeder tarps/scrims were over the scaffolding for the Star Tours facade. Tomorrowland is such a mess. the ST construction walls have been pushed out even more, with the area in front of the wall now stroller parking for Buzz. there are walls for Buzz's FP(FastPass), making the walkway even more narrow. the Star Trader is closed for refurb as well. some merch from the Star Trader is now in the Starcade.

WANT.

these chocolates have cute packaging :D

if you look closesly you can see the crowds o__o

while in TL i got my FP for Space Mountain and watched Captain EO to kill some time.
we headed over to FL promptly to get on iasw, only to find that it was stroller hell. we headed over to Toon Town and found...

GOOFY! :D

we hustled over to NOS to get on the Haunted Mansion, because no trip is complete without a ride on this Imagineering masterpiece(my condolences, MK)

we arrived only to find the ultimate disappointment. technical difficulties D:

i don't know why the queue for POTC extended this far into NOS, i guess they were expecting large crowds? but POTC is a people eater, i don't think it needed to be extended THAT far back.

wait times. not that bad considering it was a holiday. but i'm a spoiled AP, i avoid lines that are longer than 30 minutes with the idea that i'll just come back next week ;]

over at DCA...
i think we only got to go on Soarin'. then we headed to Pacific Wharf for a bread bowl yummm.

i really cant go without meeting DUFFY!!

i love this

it's hard to tell but work is coming along nicely on the facade for TLM. the attention to detail is amazing

i wonder if these will be painted to match...?

i love these recycled Mad Tea Party lanterns at the Lucky Fortune Cookery~!

WDW 40th Vinylmations at D Street :o

people already camping out for Fantasmic!....at like 5. the show starts at 9...

not really an awesome shot but oh well.

guess i was wrong about the hearse...

i kind of feel like the sound might have been plussed, because it sounded really good. also Leota is floating again(YAY)

other newsworthy things i didn't get a picture of:
-Main St. was completely wall-less
-the spring flowers all around the park were beautiful
-the pile of dirt that is the future sight of Carthay Circle Theater is looking higher
-Cars Land rock work is coming along very nicely and looks super detailed

ending this report with an awesome shot of Adventureland and it's awesome tiki torches

see ya real soon!
