dani does president's day 2/21

this trip was actually kind of on a whim. my friend had invited me maybe 2 days before and i was like HELL YES. i was prepared for the holiday crowds by having somewhat low expectations of what i'd be able to ride that day. so it was an easygoing trip without any rushing around, considering waits over 30 minutes would be inevitable. we started our trip with breakfast at the Carnation Cafe. i had a Mickey shaped waffle :] Chef Oscar came by my table and greeted me. he even patted my back!!! :O

tarps or scrims? regardless, some cool Starspeeder tarps/scrims were over the scaffolding for the Star Tours facade. Tomorrowland is such a mess. the ST construction walls have been pushed out even more, with the area in front of the wall now stroller parking for Buzz. there are walls for Buzz's FP(FastPass), making the walkway even more narrow. the Star Trader is closed for refurb as well. some merch from the Star Trader is now in the Starcade.

WANT.

these chocolates have cute packaging :D

if you look closesly you can see the crowds o__o

while in TL i got my FP for Space Mountain and watched Captain EO to kill some time.
we headed over to FL promptly to get on iasw, only to find that it was stroller hell. we headed over to Toon Town and found...

GOOFY! :D

we hustled over to NOS to get on the Haunted Mansion, because no trip is complete without a ride on this Imagineering masterpiece(my condolences, MK)

we arrived only to find the ultimate disappointment. technical difficulties D:

i don't know why the queue for POTC extended this far into NOS, i guess they were expecting large crowds? but POTC is a people eater, i don't think it needed to be extended THAT far back.

wait times. not that bad considering it was a holiday. but i'm a spoiled AP, i avoid lines that are longer than 30 minutes with the idea that i'll just come back next week ;]

over at DCA...
i think we only got to go on Soarin'. then we headed to Pacific Wharf for a bread bowl yummm.

i really cant go without meeting DUFFY!!

i love this

it's hard to tell but work is coming along nicely on the facade for TLM. the attention to detail is amazing

i wonder if these will be painted to match...?

i love these recycled Mad Tea Party lanterns at the Lucky Fortune Cookery~!

WDW 40th Vinylmations at D Street :o

people already camping out for Fantasmic!....at like 5. the show starts at 9...

not really an awesome shot but oh well.

guess i was wrong about the hearse...

i kind of feel like the sound might have been plussed, because it sounded really good. also Leota is floating again(YAY)

other newsworthy things i didn't get a picture of:
-Main St. was completely wall-less
-the spring flowers all around the park were beautiful
-the pile of dirt that is the future sight of Carthay Circle Theater is looking higher
-Cars Land rock work is coming along very nicely and looks super detailed

ending this report with an awesome shot of Adventureland and it's awesome tiki torches

see ya real soon!

happy lunar new year festival 2/6

lunar new year festival was really fun, with lots of great performances from young dancers and lots of interesting vendors. i think it's so great how even though it's the same Festival Arena from the previous Family Fun Weekends, it has a totally different vibe than the last week. let's start my report :]

Chip and Dale! i'm not sure if we were supposed to be sumos or not, but apparently Lizzy didn't get the memo hehe

i really loved Mickey and Minnie's costumes. and the CM(cast member. get ready for lot's of acronyms on this blog~!) was really awesome, she totally took a million shots of us meeting Mickey and Minnie. i think the photos that are less posed and more in the moment are the best. i only posted a few because i figured you didn't want to see all 20 of them.

Mushu! it was really cool seeing him, i don't think i've ever met him before.

Mulan!! she was so nice. and cute. i got her to write a love note to my boyfriend who loooves her. he professes that she is his favorite princess(even though she isn't actually royalty...)

the hearse in front of the Haunted Mansion(HM)was out for refurb. i'm sure it's returned at this point.

AMAZING Star Wars shirts at the Star Trader. i especially love the "i only date rebels" shirt, because the cut of the shirt is kind of loose and cropped. and because i have a huge crush on Han Solo.

Lizzy was making fun of my height. but i'm tall enough to get on Space Mountain!!

Mad Hatter and Alice right in front of the Mad Tea Party! he asked if we had a riddle, i couldn't think of an original one so i asked why a raven is like a writing desk. his answer was something about Edgar Allen Poe, i don't really remember it. also, Alice is so pretty.

Snow White's Grotto. it's on the right side of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Snow White's wishing well is located here, and "I'm Wishing" plays . it's a nice little spot that's really cute.

waiting in line for Snow White's Scary Adventure(SWSA). this is easily one of my favorite dark rides. it's kind of a shame that the Magic Kingdom(MK) is losing theirs, but at least they get a really cool new coaster-esque mine cart ride through the Seven Dwarves' mine.

i love to touch this apple. it just bothers me how grimey it can get o__o

SWSA is actually legitimately scary. i always get scared when you're going through the forest and the Old Hag comes out of no where on her little boat with those damn apples. eek.

Peter Pan's Flight(PPF), with the Matterhorn behind it

now over to DCA(Disney's California Adventure)...

we went to Flik's Fun Fair and rode Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. we were the only one's on the ride who weren't parents lol.

we also sat in these awkward chairs by the entrance to Flik's Fun Fair.
afterward we headed over to Paradise Pier and went on Silly Symphony Swings like 3 times. unfortunately i didn't think to get any construction pics, but things have been coming together quite quickly on all the Paradise Pier projects.

DUFFY! we LOOVE Duffy. i am a shameless Duffy fan. it might be because his presence isn't as intrusive as it is at EPCOT(well that's just what i'm assuming...). i have a small Duffy keychain, but i'm pining for a big Duffy plush. maybe on my next trip i'll be less cheap and buy one.

we headed back to DL for some dole whip and a trip to the Enchanted Tiki Room. it is seriously my new favorite thing. i barely started seeing this show maybe last year and gosh i'm obsessed.

i'll end this report with a photo of the Partners statue :]

kickin' country weekend 1/21

first update as disney dani! so exciting! i decided i only wanted to change the aesthetics of the blog rather than start an entirely new one. i like how this layout is a lot cleaner and less dark and dreary. the header photo of Sleeping Beauty Castle was taken by me.

Lizzy and i went for kickin' country weekend on january 21st because we didn't have school. thank god finals were over!

Mickey and Minnie were adorable. every hour or so they'd go on stage and teach people how to line dance.

Clarabelle Cow was so neglected! she was very happy to see us

Donald and Daisy. Lizzy was having a heart attack from excitement

Chip and Dale!

waiting in line for the wildest ride in the wilderness, Big Thunder Mountain

Tiana.! she's so sweet

metting Duffy is a must every time we go together

Aviator Minnie and Goofy in Condor Flats over at DCA

Fairy Godmother, just chillin by the castle. she called us princesses!

obligatory castle shot

we went back to the Festival Arena and met Woody and Jessie

Cinderella, Aurora, and Jasmine at the Princess Fantasy Faire. the line was too long and full of small children. not sure if i'd be willing to go again

Mad Hatter hanging out by the Mad Tea Party

Mary Poppins and Bert. Bert was cute. they were asking me about my pins~!

construction walls on Main St. which have since been taken down. they were just repaving the street, most likely in preparation for Mickey's Soundsational Parade.

ending this post with an obligatory shot of Paradise Pier :]
